The Meizu MX quad-core has received another official presentation, this time focusing on its renaming to the Meizu MX 4-core during an event in Hong Kong. The device was presented in collaboration with carrier PCCW and will go on sale in its stores starting June 30.

The pricing of the 32 gig model is HK$3,099 (~US$400) and the 64 GB one is HK$4,099 (~US$530). There's no 16 gig variant in the works. The phone comes in a selection of vivid colors - ivory white, milky lime, lilac purple and misty pink.

The device looks almost identical to its dual-core predecessor with the only differences being the removed transparent Chinese logo above the display and the dimmer logo on the back. The 8 MP snapper has been preserved and the same goes for the 4" ASV capacitive touchscreen of the iPhone-esque 640 x 960 pixels resolution.

There have been some changes on the software front - the Flyme (fly-me) OS, Meizu's custom skinned Android launcher, is now on top of Android version 4.0. It offers multiple extended applications, like Flyme Message (similar to iMessage for the iPhone), WhatsApp messenger and the like.
