Xbox Live gaming coming to the iPhone?

By on 05:24

Xbox LiveMicrosoft is reportedly planning to bring Xbox Live gaming, one of the major perks of its Windows Phone platform, toAndroid and iOS.
Given the growing popularity of the Xbox, which was the best-selling games console of 2011, the Redmond-based company is supposedly planning to bring the Xbox mobile gaming experience – currently only available on Windows Phone 7 – to other platforms including iOS and Android.

A spokesperson for Microsoft said, as quoted by Forbes: “While the Xbox Live experiences and games always work best on the Windows platform, we understand that some Xbox fans may be using other types of devices. To satisfy that need, we are working to extend a few of our Xbox experiences and titles to other platforms.”
Although this is no-doubt music to the ears of owners of the iPhone and Android mobile devices, it seems like a bizarre move on Microsoft’s part. Xbox Live gaming is, undoubtedly, one of the few major selling-points of Windows Phone 7, but if this is rolled-out to multiple platforms, Microsoft no longer has that competitive advantage. Still, we’re certainly not complaining.
We’ll bring you more details on this as soon as we hear more
