Sony Xperia SP already made a few appearances online, enough to get out attention. The first time we saw it pose in front of a camera back in the end of January. A few days later we learned that this mysterious phone will be called Xperia SP and it will be most probably released with another sibling - the Xperia L. Recently we got some info on the specs too.
From all the previous rumors before we learned the Xperia SP will be based on the Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset utilizing a 1.7GHz dual-core Krait processor and Adreno 320 graphics. It was also supposed to sport at least a 4.3-inch 720p screen. Also, one of its three region-specific versions - the C5303 - should come with LTE radio.
Today's new information sheds some more light on the design and the specs - the screen will be 4.6-incher and the rear camera will uses an 8MP Sony Exmor RS sensor. The internal storage will be 8GB, expandable via a microSD card slot.
The Xperia SP will have an aluminum frame and a removable plastic back cover. The SIM and microSD slots will be underneath that cover.
Finally, we also learned the footprint of the phone - 130.6 x 67.1 x 9.98 mm. With a weight of 155g it's quite similar with the Xperia ZL.
It's unclear when the Xperia SP will be announced since Sony won't hold a press conference at the upcoming MWC. We guess it won't take long though.
